That little delay catches plenty of players out. If you drive straight to Hokubu and start looking before finishing the challenge, you may be searching an empty map zone for no reason.

The Hokubu Treasure Hunt is a good way to pick up extra FH6 Credits without settling in for a long championship. You'll need to read the clue, complete the task it points to, and then search the newly marked area for a chest. It sounds simple, but the hunt doesn't work like a normal race. There's no obvious racing line to follow, and the chest won't appear until the clue objective has been cleared. That little delay catches plenty of players out. If you drive straight to Hokubu and start looking before finishing the challenge, you may be searching an empty map zone for no reason.

Read the Clue Before You Drive

Start by opening the Festival Playlist and checking the wording of the Treasure Hunt clue. Look for anything that suggests a car type, a road surface, a landmark, or a particular driving action. The clue usually gives you more information than it seems to at first glance. A mention of dirt, speed, jumps, or a certain class of vehicle can point you towards the right setup. Don't swap cars every few minutes, though. Try the most likely option first and test the objective in a sensible location. If the challenge involves a jump or a speed target, build up a clean run instead of attacking it at random. Many failed attempts come from using a perfectly fast car that simply doesn't match the requirement.

Unlocking the Hokubu Search Area

Once the clue challenge is complete, return to the map and look for the Treasure Hunt search circle in Hokubu. The chest should be somewhere inside that zone, but it may not be sitting beside the nearest road. This is where a bit of patience helps. Drive around the edge of the circle first, then work towards the middle while checking side paths, open ground, and small groups of buildings. A drone view is useful when the terrain gets awkward. You can also switch to a higher camera angle and pause briefly at intersections. The chest is easier to spot when you're moving slowly, so don't charge through the area at full speed and hope you'll notice it.

Useful Cars and Easy Search Tactics

Your vehicle choice matters more than people expect. An off-road build is the safer pick if the marked area includes steep slopes, loose ground, or narrow trails. For flatter sections, a responsive road car can get around quickly, although it may struggle when the route leaves the tarmac. Keep an eye on fences, rocks, ramps, and buildings that could hide the chest from a normal driving view. If you think you've covered the whole circle, check the roads just inside its boundary rather than repeating the same central loop. Reversing out of a dead end is often quicker than trying to force a heavy car through it. You can also place a temporary waypoint near the opposite side of the zone to keep your search organised.

Make the Reward Work Harder

Smashing the chest pays 100,000 Credits, and the reward arrives straight away. That makes this hunt worth doing even when you're short on cash for upgrades or a new garage purchase. It also fits neatly into a wider Festival Playlist run. Before leaving Hokubu, check nearby PR Stunts, Speed Zones, Photo Challenges, and Championships. You may already have the right car loaded, and knocking out two or three tasks in the same trip saves a surprising amount of time. The cash is useful, but the extra Festival progress matters too, especially when you're chasing a seasonal car or reward tier. If you enjoy trying different builds, put the money towards a dependable rally setup or one of the FH6 Cars you've been waiting to add to the garage, rather than letting the reward sit unused.
